Perhaps it is because I have been teaching for 27 years, but this book has nothing new to say and is not worth the price. Perhaps a new teacher would benefit from this book.

Tons of blah-blah to be honest. There is nothing you cannot find on internet for free.

Explains different personality types and divides mis-behavior into four understandable catergories. Gives real classroom examples (makes it easy to picture each "type" of kid) and you can even put kids you've taught into each category. Book discusses importance of following procedures and having class meetings. Explains HOW to do this as well. Gives examples of how a teacher reacts to situations and consequences for which direction teacher chooses. Book lists any discipline issue you can dream of and explains what each is, gives suggestions for how to handle it, has planning ahead to prevent future problems, and then gives inspirational stories. A terrific resource for every teacher!

The book is fine but it came with coffee stained pages. Pretty Gross.

This is a WONDERFUL method of managing behavior that is SO effective when the teacher can apply the principles! The premise is simple, and effective .If you respect children, and do not want humiliation or fear to be the motivators for classroom behavior.management THEN THIS IS IT!

This book is so awesome, it has so much history of the Joker in works and picture and a lot of gems are in this book, not once have I regretted picking it up at all.The icing on the cake was seeing the forward written by the voice if the Joker himself, the legendary Mark Hamill. This is a great book and a must have for any Batfan or just a fan of the Joker

I bought this for my husband (a huge joker fan) for Christmas and he can't get over it. His dad loves it, all his friends love it... this is an amazing book for anyone who loves the joker. It's very extensive and colorful and makes a great coffee table book as well for anyone to pick up. I would highly reccommend.

Being a victim yourself does not give you free reign to hurt other people. Not when you're 14 and definitely not when you're nearing 30.I really wish Emilia could've found someone else who deserved her because Vic did not. He didn't deserve any woman and neither do his friends who treat all women like warm wet holes until they're bored. To say I won't be reading any of the books after this is probably a given.

Vicious and Emilia have a tortured past. Her family came to work for his father and step-mother and he dubbed her "Help" when they were both seniors in high school. Vicious tormented Emilia and his friend, Dean, when they started dating. Vicious was an angry young man and was able to force Emilia to leave her family behind when she turned 18. 10 years later they meet by accident and Vicious is again trying to control Emilia's life by forcing her to meet his demands. Emilia is not in a financial position to fight him off long and finds herself drawn into his web again. After the things Vicious has said and done, Emilia still finds herself liking him more than she should. Vicious begins to pay for his actions and is surprised when he is willing to risk a lot in order to do right by Emilia. Emilia has been burned one too many times and does her best to protect her heart. I did like how Vicious plotted his revenge on those who did him wrong and waited patiently to effectuate it. I did not understand why he waited as long as he did, but it was interesting to see how his mind worked. Emilia discovers some of the secrets that Vicious has kept and does understand some of what drove him to be mean and vile to her. He does go above and beyond what he seemed capable of in order to prove his feelings for her are real. Did not quite get the dynamic between Dean and Vicious and it seemed like they didn't really like each other, each one going out of their way to emotionally damage the other. Will be interesting to see what happens to the next member of FHH.

This is a must read for those who love jerk heroes! Vicious and Emilia were absolutely awesome, and there was a GREAT grovel. I can't wait for the rest of the series <3 <3

OMG.....what can I say. I really, really wanted to hate Vic for all the horrible things he did, but I couldn't. He pulled on my heart strings like he did Emilia's. Douche doesn't even describe what he was. Emilia was his life line even when he didn't know it. I loved the way we got our background information without getting lost. What a great read!!

Kaku recognizes that making predictions hundreds, thousand or even millions of years into the future using the scientific understanding current in 2018 is obviously going to be widely speculative. Yes, many of these predictions will be falsified in the next fifty years.But Kaku has not set out to write a book containing only the most reasonable predictions for the longest time span. He has instead tried to help reignite public interest in science—particle physics, astrophysics, space exploration—that Americans shared before descending into the cultural wars which have been ongoing since the 1970s.If you think of Kaku as in the line of Isaac Asimov and H.G. Wells, who he cites frequently in the text, then you won’t be bothered by speculations like how humankind could build an intergalactic civilization. About seventy-five thousand years ago, a volcanic eruption nearly ended the human race; almost everything died. About two thousand humans survived. As a result two chimpanzees have more genetic variation than all human beings combined; we differ by .01 of a percent. And this wasn't the only time the Earth was almost destroyed. Most everyone knows about how the dinosaurs disappeared.So . . . why are we here? According to Michio Kaku Jupiter is our guardian angel, deflecting most asteroids, comets and other space clutter that could kill us. Earth is a “Goldilocks Planet”, not too hot, not cold, with an atmosphere that's no too dense and a magnetic field and an ozone layer that deflects ultra-violet rays from frying us alive. How many “Goldilocks planets are there in our galaxy? Possibly hundreds of thousands, but a lot depends on plane old luck. We have been lucky. Just last year an asteroid came within a thirty-some thousand miles of the Earth.How do scientists know which planets are like us? They can't see them, but the Kepler and the Hubble telescopes look at the brightness of certain stars; when they dim in a certain way, it means something is blocking their light. Scientists are able to tell the size of the planet by how much it affects the light from its host star.Kaku discusses the effect of Obama's decision to shut down the shuttle program. He was hoping private business would get involved, and they have in a big way. Elon Musk has a billion dollar contract to provision the international space station, and he has delivered supplies several times. He is planning a Mars landing by 2024; he already has a rocket whose booster can land on an ocean platform. This rocket can take us to Mars. NASA isn't quite that optimistic. They plan to put a man on Mars by 2035, using the moon as a base.Stephen J. Hawking maintains that if we can make it through the next two hundred years and not destroy ourselves via terrorism and nuclear war or pollution we can evolve in respect to reaching the stars. A Russian scientist, Nikolai Kardashev has created a scale of civilizations: Type I uses all of the energy from the light provided by its star; Type II uses all the energy the sun produces (think fusion); Type III uses all the energy in the entire galaxy. Obviously we're not even a Type I civilization since we don't use all the sunlight the Sun provides. We're about a 0.7 civilization.If we survive it's pretty much a given we'll have a settlement on Mars by mid century and we'll start terraforming it. It's too cold up there with hardly any atmosphere. We can warm it up by injecting methane into its atmosphere.Scientists have also discovered several moons of Jupiter and Saturn that have water. We can use them as bases to move beyond the solar system.Eventually, Kaku gets around to his pet theory, string theory which mathematically combines Einstein's theory of relativity and quantum theory. It consists of ten dimensions, but we can't prove it until we become a Type III civilization. We can chip away at it, using the Super colliders, the CERN in Switzerland which has already discovered the Higgs Boson particle, an indicator of dark matter, and a new one being built by the Japanese in conjunction with other countries. String theory will help us discover what's inside a Worm Hole, whether or not we can pass through one without being crushed. Supposedly if we can pass through a Worm Hole, we can take a short cut to the opposite side of the galaxy. String Theory also allows for the possibility of multi universes. Kaku talks about universes “popping in and out of existence”. We're looking for the stable ones. Why? Because other galaxies are racing away from us at exponential speed. If this keeps up, we're in for a “Big Freeze” and everything will die. String theory allows for us to move not just to another star, but another universe. If you're the paranoid type, stop worrying. This won't happen for billions maybe trillions of years.

Very basic. Maybe good for a novice who doesn't have any inclination to look on what is available free on line. However the typos and misspellings are unacceptable. Wouldn't you think that someone should know that "Echo" clearly being used as a proper noun, should be capitalized when referring to the device that is the subject of the book?

This is a silly user guide. I wouldn't even call it a user guide as much as it is a lengthy promotion of Echo. Doesn't give much good information.

Pitiful. Nothing that you can't learn with 5 minutes on a Google search.

Only a fair amount of info that can be found anywhere.

At least it's only 99 cents. A tome that's impossible to read or to understand the reason it was developed.

Recently I got an Amazon Echo as a birthday gift but I did not achieve its best benefits. This book opened my eyes by introducing me with such an interesting and brilliant device’s ultimate benefits. It is an invaluable book, no doubt, as it guide you to to do more with Alexa even you are a new as well as the expert get something new to try with Alexa. It is not just gadget, rather I got this like a personal assistant and this book teach me perfectly on how to make it works. If you think of maximum benefits of this handy device, I would like to recommend this book to get a clear and step by step guideline.

My problem is the general focus on current matters. I tend to reach back in time. First try was to recover the date JFK was assassinated. Tried half a dozen variations of the question. Answers were along the line of "I don't understand the question or can't find anything. Finally entered "John F Kennedy. Answer was president of the US frown xxx to xxx (forgotten dates). If memory is right (not always the case), the year of the assassination wasn't included, gave the thing to one who needs to know the time or the winner of the football game.JJS

My father is one hundred years old, legally blind and has an inquiring mind. Echo can answer a lot of questions. What is the population of New York State? What is the temperature outside? Who were the first 10 presidents of the United States.? She can also interface with our lighting. Alexa, turn on the lamp please! We turned off the purchasing ability to be safe, but absolutely love this techno miracle. If I leave Dad for an hour, I can just "drop in" and talk to him over the echo without him needing to answer or pick up the phone. He can also call me by saying " Echo, call my daughter". ( You do need an extra piece of inexpensive equipment to do this). LOVE ECHO!
