Just repeated info from elsewhere. They spend a lot of pages advertising for a website that sells expensive stuff that is unnecessary. I am irritated I spent so much money for this book!!! I bought many on this topic and this book was a waste of time compared to others.

You name it your question is answered in this book about Gastric Bypass surgery. A little dated ()no longer is the gall bladder routinely taken out at the time of surgery) but a full explanation not only of the procedure but the nutritional needs after surgery which I find so very useful! A BIG book indeed. If you are considering, going for or have had gastric bypass surgery this comprehensive book is for you! Never talking down to you but not too simplistic either, it explains everything you ought to know. A real companion book during before and after gastric bypass surgery. Highly recommend!

The Big Book also known as 'The Bible for the bypass' does not let down. It covers everything you need to know from before you make your decision to diet and exercise information months afterwards. Simply said, if you are considering a bypass, or having one, you need to read this book.

Although there is a lot of information in this book not all of it is correct. I noticed several times that it contradicts itself. On one page it says that open gastric bypass surgery is safer than laproscopic surgery. On the next page it says the exact opposite! On several occasions the author refers to gastric bypass as "the sleeve". Anyone who has had or is looking to have weight loss surgery knows that the sleeve and RNY are two very different things. Also the sample meal plans are pretty far fetched. A cup of food during the pureed stage? There is no way a person could (OR SHOULD) eat an entire cup of food in three or four weeks after surgery! I think the book could be good if it was more successfully edited and it's pretty obvious that the author's purpose in writing the book was to throw in as many plugs for his blog as humanly possible. Be sure to go to bariaticpal.com, is mentioned about a zillion times throughout the book. Wish I could send it back. Waste of money!

Whether you are researching having surgery, going thru the pre op process or post op you need this book! It guides you step by step before during and life after surgery, it's an easy read and 1.5 yr post op I still refer back to this book to keep my mind fresh and focused. I got it on Kindle.Alex has also started an online support community called Bariatric Pal which is also available for iPhone and Android, highly recommend checking that out also.

I have been considering this surgery for awhile now and it was not easy to find unbiased information. This book is very easy to read and gives you a lot of information. It lays out the pros and cons, gives you diets to follow for the rest of your life and, if you have questions, it is easy to find answers. I have had this surgery now and I still refer to it quite a bit when I have a question. Probably the best book I have seen on this subject. I have it on my kindle. I probably would buy it as an actual book if I had to do it over because I like to highlight and mark pages for reference. Just not as easy on a kindle but still doable.

Drupal 8 Explained is a hands-on book. Don't just read it. Use your computer, follow along and develop a Drupal 8 site. These authors know how to present understandable instruction on a very powerful content management system.

This is a good resource - if you need to get into Drupal 8 quickly, this is a superb option.Drupal 8 explained covers a brief background, installing, setting up, and takes you through basics you need for your content / themes / etc. It's up to you to continue on with your Drupal 8 experience.I already had my own web server and started to test install Drupal 8 with the Documents available on the Drupal 8 site. I think this allowed me to easily pass to page 80 something. I did not use their recommend host. CMS systems, forums, and other canned software such as Drupal, Simple Machines Forums, Joomla ... etc. so these are not entirely new tech to me. In my opinion, this will help someone that doesn't know how to do this stuff. Expect it to take a bit more time ... but it is understandable to someone new.This book will get you off the ground. I highly recommend for beginners, those trying to get back into web technologies, and those who have a footing but need to quickly learn Drupal 8.

I don't have a CompSci or Web Development background but I've been playing with Drupal on and off for a couple of years (starting with Drupal 7) and have read a couple of 'beginner' books. As a project manager I'm just trying to understand the basics, but I was never able to get to a point after reading those books where I thought I was at least using some of the functionality that makes Drupal a good platform. Installing Drupal on your own local server has gotten rather complex over the years and the fact that this book partners with a company to get you on a hosted environment out of the box really helps you get right to learning the Drupal GUI.It took me about 2 months to get through the book mainly because I was really trying to build out what I was learning in the exercises into a real application, using real content, as I was going along. In hindsight, I'm not sure I would do that again for 2 reasons: 1) Pantheon, the hosting service, while seems to be a great service, is expensive. I'm not saying it isn't worth it for someone who can't deal with building an environment from scratch however; 2) Now that I have all that content on Pantheon, it might take a bit to migrate to another host if I decide to go that way. Maybe I would suggest to dig deeper with more robust content for certain exercises to get a better grasp, but don't go crazy trying to build a real website out of the box.I definitely recommend the book; it's concise, easily read, and has me very curious on where to go from here.

This is a well written book that walks you through an entire simple site build allowing you to get a grasp on the basic Drupal concepts. The step by step instructions are clear and concise including screen shots for clarity. If there was anything I could say that could be considered constructive criticism would be that the book could use a little more explanation of the very confusing Drupal vocabulary as it pertains to nodes, entities and taxonomy. The book touches on this in bits and pieces but, still leaves some of the details a little fuzzy. The company that supports the book, OSTraining has written many online tutorials to help you along the way and Steve's grasp of the use and development of Drupal sites is phenomenal. I had a question at one point in the book and he personally contacted me to make sure I could get it figured out. The support was excellent. I cannot say enough good things about this book and the associated website. They offer a monthly subscription for their books as well as their videos and it includes training on other content management systems such as Joomla and Wordpress. But, back to the book. I was able to go through the book cover to cover and now I feel as if I have a solid grasp of the basics of Drupal. Months of "Googling" didn't get me to the level of clarity this book did in just a few days. Thank you Steve, Cindy and the entire OSTraining Team. You guys are knocking it out of the park.

I like Richard Rossiter's guidebooks - they are always good. The topos are easy to use, and it seems comprehensive. The layout that the Falcon guidebook series uses is also outstanding - much better than any climbing guidebooks I've used in the UK where I am from. I take a star off because there aren't photos of every crag with the routes on. I regard that essential.

Dr. Richard L. Curwin is an author, speaker, and experienced practitioner who explores issues of student discipline, behavioral management, and motivation. During his 45 years in the classroom, he served as a 7th grade educator, teacher of emotionally disturbed children, college professor, and director of the graduate program for disabled youth at David Yellin College in Jerusalem. With his colleague Dr. Allen N. Mendler, Dr. Curwin founded Discipline Associates, created the Discipline with Dignity program, and coauthored Discipline with Dignity for Challenging Youth and As Tough as Necessary: Countering Violence, Aggression, and Hostility in Our Schools.Dr. Allen N. Mendler is an educator and school psychologist with extensive experience working with children of all ages in regular education and special education settings. As a motivational speaker and trainer on topics pertaining to challenging students, he has given workshops and seminars around the world.
