This was a comprehensive but child-friendly book. My fourth graders enjoyed it as a read aloud to introduce a unit on ancient Egypt.
Wonderful (little) book!! Chapters: a brief history of ancient Egypt, geography and climate, getting around, Gods and Godesses, Pharaohs, Pyramids, the afterlife, everyday life, health and medicine, crime and punishment, end of a civilization, how do we know all this?, the legacy of ancient Egypt. I read it to my second grader and it was really easy to follow and interestingly fun..I didn't want to put the book down. The sketches are lovely..I think my son wants to color them all in...I just cannot wait for more in this series. I will buy them all.
AWESOME book for young children!---the entire series is the BEST!!!
